For most of this month, the weather was predominantly cold and wet, with a persistent cold affecting me since 19 September.

Species that already were seen in August and returned:

• Aglais io
• Coenonympha pamphilus
• Colias sp.
• Issoria lathonia
• Pieris brassicae
• Pieris rapae
• Polygonia c-album
• Polyommatus icarus
• Vanessa atalanta

• Aeshna cyanea

Species that were last seen in July and returned:

• Polyommatus bellargus

• Calopteryx virgo (female reported on 30 September)

Species making their first appearances:

• Sympetrum vulgatum

With the exception of S. vulgatum (odonata) and C. pamphilus, all observations were expected due to the late-October-like weather.

At this point, I'm expecting this season to end within two weeks, given those few "warm" days with increased activity of V. atalanta, I. lathonia and P. c-album.
